The purpose of the Smart Farm Initiative was to deploy and test a range of connectivity solutions and AgTech technologies from a number of providers to gain an insight into what digital and connectivity solutions were readily available to producers at the time and what needed more research and investment.

As part of the project, AxisTech installed over ten devices which were connected via the Sigfox network. This included five rain gauges, five soil moisture probes, and two weather stations.
