Overview

This Privacy Policy applies to AxisTech Pty Ltd (AxisTech) and its digital products, including the AxisStream web application. AxisTech manages personal information and farm data in Australia under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). We also follow the National Farmers’ Federation (NFF) Farm Data Code of Practice to ensure transparency, security, and user control over data. When data is handled outside Australia, we apply equivalent privacy protections. Updates to this Policy are published on the AxisStream website.

Consent and Use of AxisStream

When you use AxisStream or any AxisTech service, you confirm that you have read and understood this Policy and agree to the collection and use of your data as described. You may withdraw consent at any time by contacting AxisTech’s Privacy and Data Stewardship Officer. Withdrawal may limit access to AxisStream services. If we ever collect new information or use data for new reasons, we will ask for updated consent first.

What Personal and Farm Information Do We Collect

We collect both personal information and farm data during normal business and operation of AxisStream. Personal information includes details that identify you (such as name, contact information, work history, or demographic details). Sensitive information includes things like health data, ethnicity, religion, or criminal history. Farm data includes any information from farm devices, sensors, or systems — such as soil moisture, livestock activity, weather, or production data.

We collect data to deliver services, improve performance, maintain relationships, and meet legal obligations. We never sell your data. We collect it directly from you unless consent or law allows a third party to provide it. Farm data is collected only with your consent and used for agreed purposes. Examples include information from devices like soil sensors or weather systems linked to AxisStream.

Ownership and Control of Farm Data

Farmers and agricultural businesses own their farm data. AxisTech is a data steward, we manage data only for agreed purposes. We do not sell or transfer identifiable farm data without your consent. You can request export, correction, or deletion of your farm data at any time. You can also withdraw consent for future data use, subject to contractual or regulatory limits.

Use and Disclosure of Information

We use or disclose data only for the reasons it was collected, related to business purposes you would expect, or as required by law. We may share data within the AxisTech Group, with trusted service providers, or research partners — always under confidentiality and consent conditions. When sharing overseas, we ensure partners follow Australian privacy standards.

Security and Data Protection

We protect all data using physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to prevent misuse, loss, or unauthorised access. Access is limited to people who need the information for legitimate business purposes. Farm and personal data on AxisStream is encrypted, access-controlled, and backed up securely.

Data Breach Notification

AxisTech complies with the Notifiable Data Breaches (NDB) Scheme under Australian law. If a breach that could cause harm occurs, we will notify affected users and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner within 30 days.

Access, Correction, and Portability

You can request access to or correction of your personal or farm data at any time. We will verify your identity and respond within a reasonable time. You may also export your farm data for use on other platforms. Requests can be made via info@axistech.co or through the AxisStream in-app support portal.

Data Retention and Destruction

We keep personal and farm data only as long as necessary for its purpose or as required by law or contract. When no longer needed, it is securely deleted or de-identified following AxisTech’s records management policy.

Cookies and Tracking

AxisTech and AxisStream use cookies to make our websites and apps work better and to understand how they are used. Cookies do not identify you personally. They help improve performance and security. You can manage cookie settings through your browser.

Governance and Accountability

AxisTech has appointed a Privacy and Data Stewardship Officer responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable privacy, data protection, and farm data governance laws and codes in the regions where AxisTech operates. This includes the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), the Australian National Farmers’ Federation (NFF) Farm Data Code of Practice, and comparable international standards such as the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the UK Data Protection Act, and other regionally relevant privacy frameworks.

The Officer oversees implementation of AxisTech’s privacy, data security, and stewardship commitments across all jurisdictions to maintain transparency, accountability, and user trust.

Contact: info@axistech.co or by post at Unit 108/396 Scarborough Beach Road, Osborne Park WA 6017.

If you believe your data has been mishandled, you can contact the Privacy Officer at info@axistech.co. We aim to resolve all complaints within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you may escalate the matter to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
